We are Welch’s
Welch’s is owned by more than 900 farmer families. They put know-how, passion and persistence into growing the grapes that make Welch’s products taste so uniquely delicious.
The People Behind the Bottle
You might be surprised to learn Welch’s is owned by a cooperative of farmers. You wouldn’t be alone. Welch’s grower-owners tell us all the time about the confused reactions they get when they tell people, “Yup, I own Welch’s.”
We don’t mind if you thought Welch’s was just another big company. You probably haven’t met a Welch’s farmer to tell you otherwise. But we’d like to introduce you to a few, and have them tell you what makes Welch’s different.
Where We Grow Grapes
The grapes used to make our 100% juice, jelly and other Welch’s products are grown on family farms in the United States. Concord and Niagara grapes are picky about climate, requiring just the right mix of sunshine, rainfall and cool nights. So Welch’s grows in four regions that have the perfect climate for the grapes to thrive.
- The Finger Lakes Region of New York
- The Shore of Lake Erie in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio
- The Shore of Lake Michigan in Southwestern Michigan
- The Yakima Valley in Washington State
